Dr. Naughty has been a stage hypnotist for over 30 years and   has previously performed for conventions, tradeshows, schools, organizations, dinner theatres, night clubs, and comedy clubs.  Locally in Las Vegas, he has performed for the Clark County Bar Association’s annual New Initiates party where the videotape of the show that evening was so “hot”, he was banned from using it and the masters were destroyed!

Dr. Naughty’s career as a hypnotist began when he was a student at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK.  He was thinking about entering the ministry, but decided that wasn’t his chosen field.  After finding a dusty book on the subject of hypnotism in the school library, Dr. Naughty quickly read it and hypnotized his roommate to help him ace a French language test.  Eventually he became so engrossed in the study of hypnotism that he enrolled at the Mind Power Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  There he studied advanced hypnotic techniques, with a special emphasis on stage and comedy hypnotism.  At the time he was grossly overweight, 265 pounds, and smoking nearly four packs of cigarettes a day.  “ I was totally bummed at myself,” he says.  “I went to a stage hypnotist and asked him to help me.  He did and I became fascinated and asked to study under him.  He mentored me for more than two years.  He taught me how to hypnotize, how to do it quickly, and how to build situation comedy sketches using the personalities of the subjects.  He was a very good teacher plus, he helped me quit smoking and dropped my weight down to 175 pounds.”

Since his student days, Dr. Naughty has performed for a wide variety of audiences and is regarded as one of the best Comedy Hypnotists of his era.  He is well known for his extremely fast induction and trance techniques.  For more than a decade, he practiced clinical hypnosis in California. Over the past forty years, his routine has gradually evolved beyond the traditional “demonstration” type shows performed by most other stage hypnotists.  By adding props, occasional quick-change costumes, special lighting, sound effects, and music, Dr. Naughty has created an improvisational show that easily measures up to, and in some ways exceeds, the entertainment value of any of the strip headliners.

Dr. Naughty brought his show to a close in 2004 after finding out he had cancer and relocated back to his home in Oklahoma.  He battled bravely for 4 years but passed away in early 2009 after succumbing to the cancer.  Dr. Naughty dedicated his life to his craft only wanting to bring laughter and joy to others.  He is a legend on the Las Vegas strip and he will be missed.
